Romans 8:16

[16]The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:


Jesus the Son of the living God is the source through which we are the children of God, He bear witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.  If a believer is asked, are you a child of God? The answer is yes, if future asked why did you think you are a child of God? Some people may say because I play drum or piano in the church, others may say because I am a member of the usher or choir department. Off course all these are good things to be done in the church as a believer.  The best answer to this question should be because the Spirit of God bears witness with my spirit that I am a child of God. This is the inward witness. The inward witness is the indwelling evidence of Jesus presence in the life of a child of God.

Sometimes the devil try to talk people out of who they are. But as a child of God, it's the Spirit that bears witness that we are children of God. Therefore when the devil comes with an accusations to make you see yourself that you are not save as a believer, resist him by knowing that you are save because the Spirit of God bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. It is what you are now not what you was that God look upon. Though you may be a murderer, idol worshiper, fornicator, adulterers etc before but now that you are in Christ you are now save and not in condemnation any more. It is your present life that matters not your past life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says "therefore if any man be in Christ, He is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new". 

What matters now is that you are a child of God and you are not a sinner. There is no condemnation to children of God. The Bible made us to understand that what the devil is doing now is the work of accusation , he knows he have been defeated and exposed, he is therefore accusing people for them to see their self unworthy, or doubt their faith or even disbelieve there faith in Christ Jesus. The Bible called Him accusers of brethren(Revelation 12:10). Knowing the aim and strategies why the devil accuses people. It is therefore important for us to make him know that we are children of God by ignoring his accusations because he is speaking of his own. His accusations can not do us any thing because we are immune by the Holy Ghost to resist and ignore his accusations. The Spirit of God bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God and there is no condemnation to children of God. It is this inward witness that is the evidence that we are save. Every child of God have this evidence, the Spirit of God dwells in the life of a Christian. Alleluia. 


Prayer point: 

Lord Jesus I thank you for this inward witness of your presence in my life. Thank you Jesus for dwelling in me. I cast out whatsoever the devil and their agent is using to occupy my thought as a result of their accusations in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
